Short Term Mission
EPIZONE offers its participants the great opportunity to learn more about the work carried out by a partner institute: the short term mission program. This short term mission program is not only for scientists but also for technicians.
Terms and conditions
- The application should be submitted at least two months prior to the first date of the visit.
- Scientists and technicians are eligible.
- A short-term mission is eligible up to 4 months.
- The visit must be relevant to the EPIZONE objectives.
- Short-term missions are in principle for EPIZONE members visiting another EPIZONE partners. However, scientific or strategic missions outside this rule could be considered provided that the added value for EPIZONE is clearly identified.
Budget
EPIZONE can cover the costs of travel and boarding and lodging. The daily allowance for the beneficiary should not exceed 125 EURO /day for the first 15 days, then 40 EURO for any other extra day.
The host institute can obtain a bench fee to cover some of their costs, for a maximum of 120 EURO/working day for the first 10 days, then 55 EURO for any other extra-working day. If an institute has the impossibility to (completely) use the bench fee for material cost the bench fee can be used for personnel cost for supervision. Only partner institutes from EPIZONE can obtain this bench fee.
Any claim for other additional budget should be clearly justified, taking into consideration the importance for the host institution and the beneficiary, and also the added value for EPIZONE.
Please keep in mind, when you charge the cost, that these cost must follow the EU-rules. This means that the cost must be actual and economic.

Within 30 days after the trip, the fellow must submit to the EPIZONE training committee and the Administration bureau:
- a detailed trip report describing the most important achievements and results of the visit,
- a financial statement about the actual costs. These costs will be taken in account within the partners administration as cost in WP 3.2. These cost will be reimbursed up to the approved budget within the next payment by the Coordinator to the partner.
- Newsletter item: up to 300 words with 2 relevant photographs. Please answers the next questions in your item.
