The symposium will provide an overview of recent top-level research in the areas of bunyavirus epidemiology, pathology, molecular virology and vaccine development.

The family of the Bunyaviridae is the largest virus family on planet Earth. It comprises plant viruses of agricultural concern and animal infecting viruses that pose threats to both veterinary and human health. Bunyaviruses are transmitted by insects, ticks or rodents, which adds to the challenge of controlling these important pathogens.
