In memory of Christianne Bruschke
It is with pain in our hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Christianne Bruschke at the age of 59 years, a precious colleague and friend. Our thoughts are with her family, her friends, and her colleagues within the veterinary health community, within the Netherlands and globally.
Christianne worked at the Dutch Central Veterinary Institute (now Wageningen Bioveterinary Research) until 2005, before joining the Ministry of Agriculture of the Netherlands, and OIE (now WOAH). In 2010 Christianne was appointed as Chief Veterinary Officer of The Netherlands. In all the positions she held, she passionately worked for the improvement animal health and welfare. Even during her illness, she has never stopped contributing to the different animal health organizations she was involved in.
With Christianne we lose a friend and strong supporter of EPIZONE. In several of our annual meetings she has contributed as a speaker, chairperson or interested delegate. We will never forget her commitment and sharp mind; she is an example for all of us.
